Terms of use
Who we are
Undercover is operated by Yanstar Studio OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (registry code: 14754518), registered address Harju maakond, Kuusalu vald, Pudisoo küla, Männimäe/1, 74626, Estonia. You can reach us at yanstarstudio@gmail.com.
These Terms are an agreement between you and Yanstar Studio OÜ ("we", "us") and govern your use of the Undercover app and its online services (the "Service"). By tapping "I agree" in the app, or by continuing to use it, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Eligibility
Offline mode is available to everyone. Online mode — matchmaking, game rooms, chat, profiles and leaderboards — is for users aged 18 and over. Where the law requires age verification through your app store account, Online mode stays unavailable until that verification is complete.
You must not misrepresent your age, bypass or attempt to bypass the age check, or let anyone under 18 use your account or play in a room opened with it. We may re-check your age at any time and may suspend accounts that do not meet this requirement.
If you believe Online mode has been blocked in error, contact us at undercover.listens@gmail.com.
Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you control, for your own entertainment. No other rights are granted. What you may not do with the app is set out under Prohibited User Conduct below.
This licence does not prevent you from creating, publishing or monetising gameplay videos, streams or similar content, on the terms set out under Trademarks.
Intellectual property
The app — including its software, source code, artwork, sounds, word lists, role designs, and text — is owned by Yanstar Studio OÜ and protected by copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you.
Trademarks
"Undercover" and "Mr. White" are trademarks of Yanstar Studio OÜ, registered in a number of jurisdictions. Our names, logos, and other marks may not be used in a way that suggests we endorse, sponsor, or are affiliated with you, your product, or your content, and may not be used as part of your own product, app, or company name.
You may refer to Undercover by name when you are fairly and accurately describing it — for example in gameplay videos, streams, reviews, articles, or social posts — and you may show gameplay footage. We welcome this and no permission is needed. Any other use of our marks requires our prior written permission.
Your content
You keep ownership of the usernames, messages, and other content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and transmit that content to the extent needed to operate the Service, and to retain it as required for moderation, safety, and legal compliance. You are responsible for what you submit and confirm that you have the right to submit it.
Your device and account
Keeping your device and your access to the app secure is your responsibility. We recommend against jailbreaking or rooting your device: it can expose you to malware, compromise your device's security features, and may stop the app working correctly or at all.
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to the Service, updates and availability
We may change, add, or remove features at any time. We may also introduce charges for parts of the Service; if we do, we will make clear exactly what you are paying for before you pay anything. Where a change materially reduces what the Service offers you, we will give reasonable notice.
Some features, in particular Online mode, require the current version of the app. If you do not install updates, parts of the Service may stop working.
Online mode requires an active internet connection, which you are responsible for providing. We are not liable for the app failing to work at full functionality where you have no Wi-Fi or mobile data available.
Third-party services
The app uses third-party services that have their own terms and conditions:
Prohibited User Conduct
The rules in this section are the community standards for Undercover. Breaking them may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of your account. You agree that, while accessing or using the Service, you will not, nor will you assist or permit any person to:
- Make unauthorized copies of any content made available on or through the Service;
- Rent, lease, loan, resell, sublicense, distribute or otherwise transfer the Service to any third party, or use the Service to provide time sharing or similar services for any third party;
- Misrepresent your age, or circumvent, tamper with, or attempt to bypass the age verification mechanisms of the Service or of the platform on which it is distributed;
- Share access to your account, or to an online room opened with it, with any person under 18;
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any other person or entity, whether actual or fictitious;
- Submit any materials or communicate any information that (a) is defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, or an invasion of a right of privacy of another person; (b) is bigoted, hateful, or racially or otherwise offensive; (c) is violent, vulgar, obscene, pornographic or otherwise sexually explicit; (d) harms or can reasonably be expected to harm any person or entity; or (e) otherwise encourages users to perform any activity that puts themselves or others at risk;
- Use excessive profanity, engage in targeted harassment, or employ emotionally manipulative tactics, including but not limited to intimidation, gaslighting, or coercion, to distress or control other users;
- Breach the privacy of others by sharing, soliciting, or exploiting private or sensitive information without explicit consent, or engage in doxxing or other forms of privacy violation;
- Artificially increase your XP or leaderboard ranking, for example by playing dummy, fabricated, or otherwise illegitimate games;
- Host public online game rooms without launching the game, thereby wasting the time of other players who want to play;
- Use the Service in violation of the intellectual property or other proprietary or legal rights of Yanstar Studio OÜ or any third party;
- Post content that actively promotes or glorifies self-harm. This includes content that urges or encourages others to cut or injure themselves, embrace anorexia, bulimia, or other eating disorders, or commit suicide, rather than, for example, seeking counselling or treatment, or joining together in supportive conversation with those suffering from or recovering from depression or other conditions;
- Submit any materials or communicate any information that is illegal, or that encourages or advocates illegal activity or the discussion of illegal activities with the intent to commit them;
- Use any device, software or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Service, or any activity conducted on the Service;
- Attempt to decipher, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer any of the software or source code comprising or making up the Service;
- Delete or alter any material that Yanstar Studio OÜ or any other person or entity posts on the Service;
- Access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Service, the Yanstar Studio OÜ computer systems and infrastructure, or the technical delivery systems of Yanstar Studio OÜ's providers;
- Create a new account on the platform, without Yanstar Studio OÜ's express written consent, if Yanstar Studio OÜ has previously disabled an account of yours;
- Solicit, or attempt to solicit, personal information from other users of the Service;
- Restrict, discourage, or inhibit any person from using the Service, disclose personal information about a third person on the Service or obtained from the Service without the consent of that person, or collect information about users of the Service;
- Gain unauthorized access to the Service, to other users' accounts, names, or personally identifiable information, or to other computers or websites connected or linked to the Service;
- Post any virus, worm, spyware, or any other computer code, file, or program that may, or is intended to, disable, overburden, impair, damage, or hijack the operation of any hardware, software, or telecommunications equipment, or any other aspect of the Service or communications equipment and computers connected to the Service;
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, or the terms of this agreement.
You alone are responsible for the consequences of your activities while using the Service.
Child Safety
Our app strictly prohibits Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), as set out in these Terms. Upon identifying CSAM, we take immediate action, including permanently banning offenders and reporting them to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the competent national authorities, in accordance with applicable child safety laws.
You can report concerns about CSAE using the in-app reporting feature described in the next section, or by writing to us directly at undercover.listens@gmail.com.
Reporting Misconduct
To address toxic or harmful behaviour, including harassment, emotional manipulation, or abuse in game chats, we provide an in-game reporting tool — the "Skull" button — accessible at all times within the chat interface. It allows players to report violations of these Terms, such as offensive language or inappropriate conduct.
We review reports and act on them as quickly as we reasonably can. Reported incidents may result in content removal, or temporary or permanent bans, depending on the severity of the breach.
Moderation, suspension and appeals
We may remove content, and suspend or terminate your access to the Service in whole or in part, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law or by an app store policy, or if we discontinue the Service. Except where the breach is serious or where immediate action is required by law, we will tell you the reason for the decision and give you a way to respond.
You can appeal any content removal, suspension, termination, or age determination by writing to undercover.listens@gmail.com. We aim to reply within 5 working days.
On termination, the rights and licences granted to you under these Terms end, and you must stop using the app and, if you wish, delete it from your device.
Limitation of liability
We work to prevent abuse on Undercover through reasonable measures such as reporting tools and moderation, but we cannot fully control or guarantee the actions, conduct, or interactions of individual players.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Yanstar Studio OÜ is not liable for user-generated content, player behaviour, or the consequences of either, including emotional distress, manipulation, or other interpersonal disputes arising from gameplay or communications within the app.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
Apple App Store
The following applies where you obtained the app from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and Yanstar Studio OÜ only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- Yanstar Studio OÜ, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- Yanstar Studio OÜ, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that the app infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country. In all other cases, the courts of Estonia have exclusive jurisdiction.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us at yanstarstudio@gmail.com — most issues can be resolved directly.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date below. Where the changes are material, we will notify you in the app and ask you to accept them before you continue using the affected features. If you do not accept, you can stop using the app at any time.
These Terms are effective as of 2026-08-26. They replace the previous version dated 2022-02-01.
